Laconic Work About

Use of Man by Man

A project focused on a fundamental pillar of all class based systems; humans as means, never as ends. Production should exist for us, not us for production. We exist as a means to produce in the name of private profit. Humans should be the ends to production not a cog in its system. The worker is stripped of all human expression in the of name profit. Increased productivity was the tool we once thought would emancipate the world, we now see its true nature under capitalism as a tool of domination over the worker. With no control over their own labour workers are reduced to mere components devoid of any creativity. The fact that production exists not as an end but a means to an economic end means we see the vast production of profitable things but a drought in the production of basic necessities. The labourer needs his hands to be reunited with his brain as he takes control over his production. Work should be expressive not repressive of our human ingenuity.

“A living human ceases to be an end in himself and becomes the means for the economic interest of another man/economic machine” Erich Fromm

“Act in such a way that you treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of any other, never merely as a means to an end, but always at the same time as an end.” Immanuel Kant
